ONE and HMM set out Transatlantic plans
Ocean Network Express (ONE) is joining together with the members of the Ocean Alliance to cover the Transatlantic as well as a single service with HMM.
The Premier Alliance of ONE, HMM and Yang Ming Line set to launch next year following Hapag-Lloyd’s exit to the Gemini Cooperation with Maersk is not planning to cover the Transatlantic leaving its members to find alternative ways to cover this trade.
Singapore-headquartered ONE is joining with Ocean Alliance members CMA CGM, Cosco Shipping Lines, Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), and Evergreen Marine for three North Europe Transatlantic services from February 2025 as part of a vessel sharing arrangement.
Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, commented, “As ONE we look forward to our new collaboration with CMA CGM, Cosco, OOCL and Evergreen in the Transatlantic trade starting in February 2025. Combining our collective fleet deployment and market experience to provide a comprehensive and reliable end-to-end customer service offering across all the key TA (Transatlantic) market sectors.”
The three services on the Transatlantic trade will cover 14 ports of call.
Meanwhile South Korean line HMM will be returning to the Transatlantic trade with ONE for a single service that will also connect to the US West Coast via the Panama Canal. The service is dubbed AL5 by ONE and TA1 by HMM.
An HMM official said, “Together with the new launch of Transatlantic service (TA1), HMM’s coverage will be further extended across the entire globe by strengthening its global competitiveness. HMM will continuously make an effort to offer customers industry-leading logistic solutions.”
The services are subject to regulatory clearance.
