CMA CGM and COSCO launching new Yangpu-Southeast Asia service
Yangpu Port in Hainan province, China, is launching a new service to Thailand and Vietnam.
The new service, jointly operated with CMA CGM and COSCO Shipping Container Lines, will deploy three 4,250 teu containerships, connecting the ports of Shanghai, Ningbo, Laem Chabang, Haiphong and Yangpu on weekly basis.
This new service will promote the trading business between Yangpu and Southeast Asia regions, providing a highly efficient and convenient shipping channel for several types of product.
Since the release of the plan for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port in 2020, Hainan has made numerous achievements progressing towards its aim of becoming an international shipping hub for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
In the first three quarters this year, Yangpu port posted 47.46m tonnes of cargo throughput and 1.45m teu in container volume, an increase of 8.48% and 7.25%, respectively.
